WALLA WALLA, Wash.- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers (1-17) hosted The Oregon Tech Owls (15-9) for the opening weekend of Cascade Conference play. Game one went to the Owls as they had two big innings that helped them edge out the Mounties 9-5. Oregon Tech stayed hot at the plate, where they grabbed 11 hits and took game two 8-2. EOU will be back at it tomorrow in Walla Walla at Murr Sports Field, facing Oregon Tech at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. for more CCC play.
GAME 1
After a few reschedules, the Mounties faced the Owls in their opening weekend of CCC play. EOU got on the board first, scoring three runs in the second inning. Oregon Tech quickly answered, tying it up the next inning. The Owls then grabbed a couple of RBIs in the top of the ninth to edge out the Mounties and take game one of the series 9-5. Four different Mounties grabbed doubles to keep the bats going. Rogelio Gonzales went 2-5 with a triple.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES
GAME 2
EOU couldn't find their rhythm at the plate for game two. Although they had eight hits, they were only able to snag two runs. The Owls were able to put up 11 hits and brought in eight to take game two 8-2. For the Mounties, Austin Gerding was the lone scorer for EOU, thanks to an Iram Macias sacrifice fly and a wild Oregon Tech pitch. Austin Gerding went 2-4 at the plate with a double.
