Mounties Move Up One Spot Nationally

KANSAS CITY, MO.- The NAIA announced the Women's Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll on Wednesday morning. The Mountaineers have remained in the Top 25 poll, moving up to No. 21 nationally. The Mounties are 5-1-1 on the season with their lone loss being against No. 1 Keiser University in the first game of the season.

"Moved up one spot after a 2-0 weekend. We have another great opportunity this weekend and our focus is on Friday but I am proud of the work the ladies continue to put in to improve." Coach Jacob Plocher said.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated groups. The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the remainder of the list. The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.

Eastern Oregon will look to continue their winning ways and improve their ranking as they take on Corban University on Friday, Sept. 23. at 12:30 P.M. in Salem, Ore.
