LA GRANDE, Ore. – Mountaineers Softball is on the road this weekend for what is expected to be a challenging four-game road series. Eastern Oregon heads over to Washington for a two-day tilt against Northwest University who continues to fight for a spot in the CCC Tournament entering the final three weeks of the season.

First Pitch
• EOU (30-11, 16-5 CCC) will look to continue its winning ways after earning a 3-1 series win over Corban at home last weekend.
• The Mounties 3-1 series win pushed them to 30 wins in a season for the first time since 2005.
• Eastern has fared well away from home this year with a 16-7 record in true road games.
• Following the weekend tilt with NU, EOU will be home for the final time next weekend with a four-game series against Oregon Tech.

Last Time Out
• EOU dispatched Corban at home last weekend, winning 3-1 and won the CCC portion, 2-1.
• Day one saw EOU go Dutch, splitting 1-1. Eastern dropped game one, 5-4, before winning game two by a final of 4-2.

Mckenna Stallings won game two in the circle, pitching a complete game. She fanned four batters.
Haley Ebner paced the bats, going 1-2 with three RBI.
• Day two belonged to the Mounties, who took both games for the series win. Game one needed 10 innings as EOU won 7-6. In the finale, Eastern pitched a shutout in the 3-0 victory.

• Last season, NU and EOU split the overall series at 2-2, but NU took the CCC portion, 2-1.
• Since 2013, the Mounties are 18-12 against the Eagles. In true road games, EOU has a slim 7-5 edge against NU.
• The last time Eastern won a CCC series against the Eagles was back in 2018, when they went 2-1 on the road.
A Season for the Record Books
• The Mountaineers have reached 30 wins in a season for the first time since 2005.

• In the circle, NU has a 4.91 ERA. They have tallied 92 strikeouts, but allowed 116 walks. They have also surrendered 27 homers and given up a .327 average to opposing batters.
• Defensively, the Eagles sport a .932 fielding percentage. They have turned 11 double plays this season, but committed 84 errors.

• Second in strikeouts is Bella King with 28. She has the best record at 8-11 and has pitched 11 complete games.
• Sydney Maurer is the only other pitcher on staff. She has 22 strikeouts and has a record of 4-7. She has the best ERA on staff at 4.30.

• EOU will return home next weekend to face league leader Oregon Tech for Senior Weekend. The series will take place Friday-Saturday, April 22-23 at Peggy Anderson Field.
• Day one action will begin at 2 p.m. for the doubleheader. Day two action is set for an 11 a.m. start. It will be Senior Day and EOU will honor eight seniors between the two games.
