GREAT FALLS, Mont.- Eastern Oregon was back in action Saturday as they traveled to Great Falls, Mont. to take on the Snow Community College on the campus of the University of Providence (Mont.). The Mounties showed to be too much for the Badgers ultimately taking the duel 34-10.
Eastern jumped out to an early lead after a forfeit in the 109 pound weight class then it was three straight pins that allowed for EOU to take over the duel.
First it was Stephanie Blankenship who kicked off the string of pins for the Mounties in the 116 pound weight class.
Next it was Paige Chafin's turn in the 123 pound weight class as she continued her dominance on the weekend taking her match handily by pin.
Then it was Kaylee Moore who rounded out the set of three pins for the Mounties taking the score to 20-0.
The Mountaineers were not done there as it was Morgan Shines turn to take the mat. Shines displayed another dominant performance taking her match comfortably by 10-0 technical fall.
It was then Freshman Liv Wieber's turn in the 143 pound weight class to step to the mat. Wieber controlled the match ultimately taking it by pin taking the Eastern lead to 29-0.
Snow College would get on the board in the 155 pound weight class taking the score to 29-5 but Olivia Robinson extended the Mounties lead after a pin in the 170 pound weight class.
A forfeit by the Mounties in the 190 pound weight class awarded the Badgers five more points leading to the final of 34-10.
EOU will be back in action Sunday, Jan. 8 as they travel to McMinnville, Ore to compete in the Linfield Open.
