Butner Finishes as Eastern's Only Placer at Mike Clock Open

FOREST GROVE. Ore.- The Mountaineers were back in action Sunday as they traveled up to the northwest part of Oregon to compete in the Mike Clock Open. The Mounties were able to come away with one tournament placer.

Eight Mounties made the trip up to the Mike Clock Open to compete. Coy Butner was the lone Mountie to make it out of the first round. Finishing 6th overall in the 133 pound division, Butner advanced past the first round with a bye. He then was able to win his next match over Elijah Bundro who wrestled unattached. Butner then was able to win by pin at the 2:22 mark of the match. Butner's lone loss of the event came against Warner Pacific's David Campbell in a 2-1 decision.

Eastern will be back in action on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6:00 p.m as they take on Corban University to open Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
