LA GRANDE, Ore. - No. 12 Eastern Oregon Women's Wrestling suffered its first dual loss of the season in a 34-11 loss to No. 3 Southern Oregon inside Quinn Coliseum. The Mountaineers' loss drops their overall record to 0-1 to start the season.

The Mountaineers (0-1, 0-1 CCC) picked up wins from Morgan Shines (130), Erin Redford (143), and Olivia Robinson (170) in their home debut to account for the team's 11 points. 

In the opening bout of 101 pounds, Karly Scott scored a 10-0 technical fall on Mia Schreiner to give the Raiders (1-0, 1-0 CCC)the early lead at 4-0. In the 109-pound bout Valeree Ornelas pinned Nayeli Flores Roque in 2:26 to extend SOU's lead to 9-0.

At 116 pounds, Tara Othman pinned Stephanie Blankenship in 18 seconds to push the score to 14-0. The Raiders lead grew to 19-0 on a pin from Carolina Moreno over Anjelynn Baron at 123 pounds. 

Shines ended the scoreless bout for the Mountaineers with a 12-6 decision over Jordyn Robson to make it a 20-3 team score. Robson's three points helped tack on a point for SOU to push the lead to 17 points.

At 136 pounds, Emily Se got points back for the Raiders pin over Kaylee Moore in 1:47. Her pin pushed the Raiders' lead to 25-3. Redford answered for Eastern with a 9-5 decision over Desinee Lopez to make it a 26-6 contest.

The 155-pound bout then saw SOU pick up a 4-0 decision win as Sienna Ramirez held off Dempsi Talkington to make it a 29-6 lead. EOU's final win came in the next bout at 170 pounds with Olivia Robinson scoring a pin over Beyonce Garicia in 1:51.

The Mountaineers then surrendered a forfeit loss at 191 pounds giving Dennis Bailey the win and the Raiders a 34-11 win.

EOU is back in action tomorrow morning when the team hosts the annual Mountaineer Open. Mat action begins at 9 a.m. PT inside Quinn Coliseum.
