Men’s Soccer Receiving Votes for 1st Time in Program History

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in program history, the Eastern Oregon men's soccer team is listed in the NAIA Top-25 Poll, among those receiving points just outside of the top-25.

The Mountaineers (2-2-1) received 43 points, the 30th most of any team and just 35 behind the No. 25 ranked team.

"It feels incredible to see the guys get some recognition for all the hard work they have been putting in," said head coach Zach Mills. "They've grown and progressed and we all have faith that the work will pay off. It's exciting to see the potential and I know these boys are hungry for more."

EOU used a dominating 2-0 win over then No. 11 Vanguard on Sep. 6 on the road to jump into the poll for the first time. The Mounties also have a 3-3 tie at receiving votes member The Master's.

Also from the CCC, Rocky Mountain dropped from No. 8 to No. 22. Corban moved into the receiving votes category with 16 while Southern Oregon dropped out completely.

The Mountaineers will get set for the start of conference play, visiting Northwest Christian on Sep. 20 followed by Corban on Sep. 21.
