Click Here This WeekThe Mountaineers play three Cascade Collegiate Conference Games this week as they host College of Idaho on Wednesday, April 8. EOU heads to Northwest University and Concordia University for CCC action this Friday and Saturday.
Last WeekThe Mountaineers were 1-5 this past week. EOU was swept by I-84 Rival, College of Idaho, 8-4 in game one, and 8-3 in game two, on Wednesday afternoon at Symms Field on the campus of College of Idaho. Last Friday, Eastern Oregon was swept by No. 24 Corban University on Friday morning. EOU fell 8-6, before being defeated, 11-3, in six innings in the second game by the Warriors. EOU closed out the week by splitting a doubleheader with Northwest Christian University on Saturday afternoon. The Mountaineers dropped game one, 11-0, to the Beacons before rebounding to win game two, 4-2.
Looking at the Opponents
College of IdahoThe Yotes enter this week with a 16-23 overall record and 7-10 in CCC action. College of Idaho is led by Destiny Turner who is hitting .450 on the season with 39 RBIs. Turner's average of .450 is the third best in the CCC this season. As a team, the Yotes are hitting .322 with 54 doubles and 12 home runs. In the circle, Cortni Pena leads the Yotes with a 3.65 ERA and 117.0 innings pitched on the season.
NorthwestNorthwest University enters this week with a record of 8-18 on the season and 4-14 in CCC action. The Eagles have lost nine straight contests. Prior to hosting EOU, the Eagles play at Concordia on April 7. On the season, the Eagles are hitting .230 as a team and have hit 25 doubles and 25 home runs. In the circle, the Eagles hold an ERA of 5.60 while striking out 110.
ConcordiaThe Cavaliers enter this week with a 31-11 overall record and 12-4 in CCC action. Concordia had their nine game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as Oregon Tech defeated Concordia, 4-2, in game one. The Cavaliers answered by winning game two, 15-7. Kelsie Merritt leads the Cavaliers at the plate with a .433 average on the season. Meghan Luebbert has a team-high 43 RBIs on the season. Lucy Baldovino holds a team high in innings pitched (144.0), ERA (3.16) and wins (17).
Previous MeetingsThe Mountaineers split the previous meetings with Northwest and Concordia. On March 20, EOU split with Concordia as the Mountaineers won game one, 6-5 before dropping game two, and 13-9. The next day, EOU split with Northwest as they won game one, 2-0, and dropped game two, 5-4.

Senior DayThe Mountaineers will honor their seniors on April 18 when they host Oregon Tech.
Conference TournamentA five-team, double elimination tournament will be hosted by the CCC regular season champion at their home site. The tournament will be comprised of the top four teams from the Cascade Conference and the top team from the Frontier Conference. The winner of the CCC regular season earns the league's first automatic bid to the NAIA Championships while the tournament champion will receive the second automatic qualifier. In the event the CCC regular season champion is also the tournament champion, the qualifier will be awarded to the runner-up in the tournament.
