This Week for EOU
The Mountaineers hit the road for three contests this season as they head to Caldwell, Idaho for a midweek game against College of Idaho. The Mountaineers head to Salem, Ore. and Eugene, Ore. this Friday and Saturday to face Corban and Northwest Christian.
 
Last Week
Last week the Mountaineers faced Whitworth, Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon and EOU came out winless in those games. On Wednesday, EOU was swept by the visiting Whitworth University Pirates on Wednesday afternoon at Peggy Anderson Field. EOU dropped game one, 11-3, before falling in the second game, 7-1. The Mountaineers returned to conference action on Friday, but were swept by Oregon Tech on Friday afternoon. The Owls took game one, 5-1, and game two, 7-5, over Eastern Oregon. The Mountaineers rounded out the week at Southern Oregon. EOU struggled at the plate in their doubleheader against the Raiders of Southern Oregon University. The Mountaineers only collected three hits in the first game of the doubleheader as they fell, 4-0. EOU dropped the second game, 6-1.
 
Looking at the Opponents
College of Idaho

The Yotes enter this week with a 13-21 overall record and 4-8 in CCC action. College of Idaho is led by Destiny Turner who is hitting .484 on the season with 32 RBIs. Turner's average of .484 is the second best in the CCC this season. As a team, the Yotes are hitting .328 with 46 doubles and 11 home runs. In the circle, Cortni Pena leads the Yotes with an 3.28 ERA and 102.1 innings pitched on the season. The Yotes have lost their last three games.
Corban
The Warriors of Corban University come into this week with a 26-9 record and 9-4 in CCC contests. The Warriors are hitting .332 as a team with 67 doubles and 46 home runs on the season. Leading the way is Kyrianna Sorensen, who is hitting .409 on the season and has team high 10 home runs. Sorensen has a team high 39 RBIs on the season. The Warriors are holding opponents to hit .248 on them and have an ERA of 2.87 on the season. Danielle Horne leads the team with a 2.35 ERA on the season. The Warriors have won their last two contests.
Northwest Christian
Northwest Christian enters this week with a 9-23 overall record and 6-8 in CCC contests. Ashlee Cole leads the team hitting .333 on the season. Jill Suratt follows with an average of .314. Parker Bonife leads the Beacons with 19 RBIs on the season. Suratt leads the Beacons in the circle with a 3.57 ERA in 88.1 innings. The Beacons dropped their last two contests.
 
Five Plus RBIs
This season the Mountaineers have recorded two games where a player collected five or more RBIs. Cassie Wendt and Marisa Gonzalez have had one contest where they have driven in more than five runs.
 
Mountaineers on the Road
This season the Mountaineers hold a 3-4 record when playing on the road. Last weekend, EOU dropped four straight road contests at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
 
Snapping the Losing Streak
This week the Mountaineers look to snap the seven game losing streak they are currently on. The last win for the Mountaineers came on March 21, when they split a doubleheader with Northwest.
 
What's Up Next
EOU returns to action next week against College of Idaho. The Yotes are scheduled to come to EOU on Tuesday, April 7 with the first pitch happening at 3 p.m. PT. Keep an eye on EOUsports.com for game changes.
