EOU kicks off action on Tuesday, March 17 against College of Idaho. On Friday, March 20 they host Concordia and wrap up the week on Saturday, March 21 against Northwest.
Last WeekLast weekend the Mountaineers went 1-3 to open their CCC schedule. On Friday, Eastern Oregon and the Beacons of Northwest Christian University split a doubleheader on Friday afternoon. The Mountaineers took game one, 4-2, before dropping the second game, 11-8 to the Beacons. The next day, EOU was swept by Corban at Peggy Anderson Field. The Warriors took game one, 10-1, and game two, 10-2.
Looking at the Opponents
College of IdahoThe Yotes of College of Idaho come into Tuesday game with a record of 10-14 on the season and 2-2 in CCC action. College of Idaho split both doubleheaders last weekend. College of Idaho is hitting .334 as a team with 11 home runs and a team earned run average of 3.67. Leading the way at the plate is Destiny Turner. Turner is hitting .522 on the season with 24 runs batted in. Cortni Pena leads the pitching staff with an era of 2.15 in 75 innings pitched.
ConcordiaConcordia enters this week with an overall record of 19-9. They were swept by Oregon Tech last weekend in the CCC opener. Leaidng the way is Kelsie Merritt, who is hitting .438 on the season. Meghan Lubbert has collected a team-high 32 RBIs on the season. The Cavaliers are hitting .345 as a team with 64 doubles and 25 homeruns on the season.
NorthwestNorthwest enters this week with a record of 5-5 on the season and 1-1 in CCC action. They split a doubleheader with Southern Oregon before being rained out the next day. Savannah Rush leads the Eagles with a .387 batting average and eight RBIs on the season. As a team the Eagles are hitting .269 with 19 doubles and nine homeruns. Kelli Peckham leads the team with an ERA of 3.03 in 34.2 innings pitched.
