This Week
This week the Mountaineers open the week by playing at Walla Walla University in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday. On Friday, EOU plays in the College of Idaho Invitational. At the College of Idaho Invitational, EOU will face, Carroll, Great Falls, Northwest Nazarene and MSU-Billings.
 
Wendt Leading the Way
Senior, Cassie Wendt is leading the way for the Mountaineers at the plate. On the season, Wendt is hitting .625 (10-for-16) with five extra base hits.
 
Career Home Run Mark
In her career at EOU, Cassie Wendt has recorded 23 home runs. In five games for the Mountaineers this season, Wendt as hit two. For her career, Wendt has hit 23 home runs. She is currently four home runs away from tying the career home run mark at EOU. Currently the career home run mark is held by Megan Platz, who hit 27 home runs in her career.
 
Hitting Streaks
Early in the season, Cassie Wendt and Shelby Baertsch have the longest hitting streaks for EOU. They both are currently have hit safely in five games. The next closest for EOU is Marisa Gonzalez with a three game hitting streak.
 
Northwest Cup
Eastern Oregon went 2-3 at the Northwest Cup this past weekend. EOU defeated British Columbia, 17-13, to open their season. EOU followed by dropping two straight to Simpson, 6-1 and 13-5 (5 inn.). EOU bounced back to defeat Carroll, 8-3, before falling to Great Falls, 5-4 (9 inn.) to close out their weekend at the Northwest Cup.
 
Home Opener
The EOU softball team will open their 2015 home schedule on Wednesday, March 4 when they host Walla Walla University.
 
CCC Opener
The Mountaineers open up Cascade Collegiate Conference on Friday, March 13 when they host Northwest Christian.
