Scouting the Opponents
Southern Oregon

The Raiders of Southern Oregon enter the contest with a 4-8 overall record and 3-1 record in the CCC. The Raiders won its last two contests as they swept Corban, 7-4 and 5-2, on March 15. The Raiders as a team are hitting .240 on the season and have hit 18 doubles. On the mound, Southern Oregon has an era of 4.62 and have struck out 43 batters this season. Julie Willison leads the Raiders at the plate as she is hitting a CCC best .467 on the season. Sydney White leads the Raiders in innings pitched as she has pitched 38 of the 77.1 innings possible for the Raiders. Brianne Craig leads Southern Oregon in earn run average (3.05).
Oregon Tech
The Owls of Oregon Tech enter this weekend ranked No. 22 in the nation and currently hold a record of 11-5 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Owls come in riding a five game winning streak as they haven't dropped a game since falling to Menlo (Calif.) on March 8. Oregon Tech currently holds the highest team batting average in the CCC as they are hitting .346 on the season. Danielle Sayres is leading the team with a batting average of .429, while Tori Weatherford has a team high three home runs and 22 RBIs. The Owls currently have the fourth best pitching staff in the CCC as they have an ERA of 3.80. Teams are hitting .255 off the Owls this season.

Top Three Hitters
Eastern Oregon has three hitters that rank in the top 20 in batting averaging in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Stephanie Maestretti leads the Mountaineers and ranks 11th in the conference as she is hitting .400 on the season. Following Maestretti is Mariebeth Watanabe who is hitting .391 and is 13th best in the conference. JoElla Smith ranks third on the team and 17th in the conference with a batting average of .385 on the season.

Scoring Runs
The Mountaineers pitching staff will be tested this weekend against Oregon Tech. The Owls have scored the second most runs in the CCC this season. On the season Oregon Tech has scored 116 runs. Last weekend the Owls scored a season high 15 runs against Northwest Christian. Southern Oregon edges EOU in runs scored this season. The Raiders have scored 35 runs on the season while the Mountaineers have scored 34.

Home Opener
After the road trip at Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech, the Mountaineers are scheduled to open home games on Monday March 24 when they open up play against NCAA Division III opponent Lewis & Clark. After the home opener on Monday, the Mountaineers remain at home to face College of Idaho Tuesday.

Busy Week
Starting on Friday the Mountaineers have a busy week, as they have  two scheduled off days in a week span. After playing these two conference games this weekend, EOU plays Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Last Weekend
Last weekend the Mountaineers opened CCC play at Northwest and Concordia. The Mountaineers went 1-3 on the trip. On the first game of the trip EOU defeated Northwest, 6-4, but fell in the night cap 8-7 to Northwest. The Mountaineers tried to bounce back the next day the Mountaineers were swept by Concordia, 9-1 and 11-0.
