CCC Openers
This weekend, Eastern Oregon University will open its Cascade Collegiate Conference season when they travel to Northwest and Concordia this weekend. The Mountaineers will first play Northwest University in Krikland, Wash. on Friday before traveling to Portland to face Concordia on Saturday.

Friday's doubleheader against Northwest, was scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. have been moved up to start at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Scouting the Opponents
Northwest
The Northwest University Eagles come into the games this weekend against EOU with a 0-6 record. The last time the Eagles took to the field was March 10-11 when they played at Simpson. Simpson defeated the Eagles swept two doubleheaders from the Eagles. Katelin Lewis leads the team at the plate as she is hitting .429 on the season and has driving in two runs. On the mound for the Eagles, Kelli Peckham leads the team in innings pitched as she has tallied 18.1 innings. However as a team, the Eagles have an ERA of 8.44 and are allowing opponents to .370 against them.
Concordia
The Cavaliers of Concordia University enter the game with an 7-8 overall record. In their last games on Wednesday, the Cavaliers split a doubleheader with NCAA Division II St. Martin's. Concordia dropped game one to ST. Martin's but rebounded to win game two. Cassidy Horner leads the Cavaliers in batting average (.391), while teammate Taylor Copher has a team high eight RBIs and Katie Aden has hit three home runs to lead the team. McKenzie Marshall leads the team on the mound as she has started six games on the season and has four complete games. She also has a team lead in ERA (2.62).
EOU Leaders
Junior
Lindsey Walchli leads the Mountaineers on the mound. Walchli has pitched 21.2 innings of the total 28 innings possible. She leads the teams with two wins and one save. The Save is the only save in the CCC.
JoElla Smith leads the Mountaineers with six hits and hitting .400 on the season.
Katie Martell leads the team with five RBIs.
Away From Home
Eastern Oregon has not played a home game this season and they are 1-1 in true road games and 2-0 in neutral site games this season. EOU looks to improve on its road record with these four road games this weekend.
Last Time Out
The last time the Mountaineers took to the field was on Feb. 22 when they participated in the College of Idaho Invitational. Eastern Oregon went 3-1 as they split a doubleheader with Northwest Nazarene before defeating University of British Columbia and the University of Great Falls. The Mountaineers took game one, 3-2 in eight innings before falling in game two, 10-3, to Northwest Nazarene. The next day t he Eastern Oregon University softball team won a pair of one run games on Saturday to end the College of Idaho Classic. EOU opened up the day with a 10-9 win over British Columbia and concluded play with a 4-3 win over Great Falls.
