Picked 8th

New Faces
With the 2014 set to begin, EOU brings new faces to the team. Besides the new players, EOU will be playing under first year head coach Betsy Westermann. Westermann comes to EOU after serving as the assistant coach at Dakota State University. One player joining the team in 2014 is Lindsey Walchli. Walchli transfered to EOU from Spokane Falls Community College. Walcli was named the Spokane Falls CC Most Valuable Player in each of her two years there. She also broke the all-time career wins record while pitching at Spokane Falls by recording 40 wins in two seasons. Her wins total broke the previous record of 38 wins.

Look at the 2014 Roster
Eastern Oregon returns eight players from last year's team including four seniors: Georgianna Kelly, Stephanie Maestretti, Katie Martell and Mariebeth Watanabe. Cassie Wendt is the only junior returning to the team and Gracie Flyg, Sidney Shaw and Lily Smith are the returning sophomores.Wendt was tied for sixth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with 11 home runs last year, which was tied for the team lead. Wendt and Martell tied for the longest hitting streak in 2013 at seven games. Wendt, Martell and Watanabe all had double-digit multiple hit games in 2013.EOU has nine newcomers to the team including three transfers. The transfers include Andrea Roeder (Columbia Basin CC), Brittnee Carman-Rice (Mount Hood CC) and Lindsey Walchli (Spokane Falls CC). Other newcomers to the team are Makenzie Correa (Heppner HS), Jessica Norby (Walla Walla HS), Taylor Smith (Mary Walker HS), Alexa Taunton (Taft HS), JoElla Smith and Nicole Redd.

Recapping 2013
The Mountaineers finished 16-29 and 7-21 in CCC action last season. E OU looks to replace Kayla Anderson who led the Mountaineers from the mound. Anderson led EOU in innings pitched (108), strike outs (83), and tied for the top spot in wins with six during the 2013 season.
