Box Score EVERETT, Wash. – The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team fell at Trinity Lutheran College Saturday, 3-1.
Tanya Tarabochia opened the scoring for Trinity Lutheran (3-7-2) in the 13th minute with a goal from 30 yards out. Eastern evened the score 14 minutes later when
Amanda Swenson took a through ball from
Mauriana Gonzalez and beat the Eagles' goalkeeper, Tiffany Thomas, for the score.
Trinity Lutheran would score a decisive pair of goals in a five-minute span beginning with a Kayla Kiphardt rebound off of a deflection from Eastern's goalkeeper. Stephanie Gonzalez then headed in a free-kick from Briana Oostinga.
In the third all-time meeting between the schools, EOU outshot the Eagles, 14-11. The Mountaineers have outshot TLC in each of the meetings. Eastern had a 3-1 corner kick advantage.
Chantal Schefers finished the game with five saves, while Thomas had six. The Mountaineers (2-4) open Cascade Collegiate Conference play Saturday at The College of Idaho.
