ABOUT THE CAVALIERS
Concordia (16-12) (9-7) enters the final stretch in search of key victories. The Cavs were the preseason favorite to win the conference receiving all seven first place votes. With two weeks to play CU is currently one-spot out of the four-team conference playoffs. Six of the Cavaliers eight remaining games are on the road, but four of the games are against the bottom two teams in the league. Concordia was ranked No. 4 in the NAIA national preseason poll.

ABOUT THE LADY YOTES
The College of Idaho (22-14) (12-8) is a game-behind Corban for second place in the conference standings. But, the Yotes are tied with Southern Oregon for the third spot in the league standings. Eastern Oregon's rivals swept an earlier season meeting against the Mountaineers in Caldwell. That sweep began a series of seven wins out of eight games, but C of I has won only one of its last four games. That one win was a big road victory at No. 17 Oregon Tech.

LAST TIME OUT
The Eastern Oregon University softball team dropped the second game of a weather-delayed doubleheader Monday, 4-3, at Southern Oregon University. The Raiders (15-16, 12-8 Cascade Collegiate Conference) took the eight-inning thriller after trailing 3-2 entering the day. Play was suspended Sunday with EOU leading 3-2 after the top of the third inning. Both teams were stymied by the SOU and Mountaineer pitchers, Jordyn Kurtz and Jennifer McDonnell. The Raiders broke the drought in the seventh inning when Kurtz drove in Sarah Wharton with a two-out line drive to left field to even the score. After Eastern was held scoreless again in the eighth inning, Southern Oregon scored on another two-out situation. Anderson would then score on a pitch that rolled away from the EOU catcher. Wailana Buchanan had two hits for Eastern Oregon.

ARGONAUTS INVADE LA GRANDE

The University of Great Falls will play a make-up date against EOU Saturday. The Lady Argos desperate for NAIA games make the trip to La Grande for the late season non-conference doubleheader. The Mountaineers were scheduled to make the trip to Great Falls on March 21-22 before snow and bad weather forced cancellations of the four games. UGF had its first eight games cancelled and have been a part of 26 postponements or cancellations this season. EOU and the Argos have met already this season as UGF won three of four in La Grande on March 5-6. Great Falls has a 7-5 all-time lead over Eastern Oregon.

THE LONE SENIOR
Wailana Buchanan will play her final home games this week at EOU. The senior has played in 45 games, amassing a .324 batting average and a .952 fielding percentage. She has 22 RBI and 45 hits while at Eastern. The Vancouver, Wash. came to EOU from North Idaho College.
