LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University softball team welcomes Southern Oregon University and Oregon Tech to Peggy Anderson Field Friday and Saturday.

THE SERIES
* Southern holds a 38-16 all-time advantage over EOU.
* The Raiders have won three straight over Eastern and four straight in La Grande over EOU.
* The Mountaineers were outscored by SOU at Peggy Anderson Field last season, 43-14.
* Since 2001, Eastern Oregon is 17-34 against Oregon Tech.
* The Owls have won six straight over EOU, and 13 of the last 15 meetings.
* OIT has won seven of the last 10 games against the Mountaineers in La Grande.

QUICK HITS
* Eastern Oregon is 12th in the NAIA in triples hit per game with an average of 0.438.
* Three Mountaineers currently ride a seven game hit streak.
* EOU's Jennifer McDonnell is sixth in the NAIA in innings pitched per game averaging 7.1.
* Eastern has been outscored by its opponents 32-10 in the first two innings this season.
* Preseason conference favorite, Concordia, is at the bottom of the conference standings after the first weekend of league play after being swept at home by Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech.

ABOUT THE RAIDERS
Southern Oregon (5-8) rides into the Grande Ronde Valley after sweeping No. 11 Concordia in Portland to open Cascade Conference play Monday and Tuesday. The Raiders were picked fifth in the conference preseason poll and are one of two teams with no losses in league play after the opening weekend of the CCC season. Rayna Okimoto leads SOU with a .452 batting average and a .929 slugging percentage. She has hit six home runs already this season.

ABOUT THE LADY OWLS
Oregon Tech (16-5) makes the trip east as the hottest team in the conference. The Owls were selected second in the conference preseason poll. OIT is led by a group of veterans with plenty of experience. The Lady Owls are led by a solid pitching staff that is 11th in the NAIA in earned runs per game (1.38), 12th in opponents' batting average (1.38) and 14th in hits allowed per game (4.5). Jackie Imhof averages nine strikeouts per game which is 15th in the nation.

LAST TIME OUT
The Eastern Oregon University softball team won one of two against Northwest Christian last Saturday, 5-3 and 4-6. The second game went 11 innings. In Game 1, the Mountaineers picked up their first victory of the season when they have scored less than six runs in a game, and second win when the opponent scores first. Jennifer McDonnell was credited with the victory after throwing a complete game. The sophomore allowed two earned runs and seven hits. She struck out three batters and walked another. McDonnell threw 89 pitches, and 64 were strikes. The second game was a two-hour, 27-minute battle through wind, passing clouds, and small amounts of falling snow. McDonnell threw another complete game for the Mountaineers, tossing 184 pitches in the 11-inning contest. She threw 111 strikes in the game.

TRIPLE TROUBLE
The Mountaineers have owned the extra-base statistic of hitting triples this season. EOU enters the weekend 12th in the NAIA in triples per game. Eastern Oregon averages 0.438 triples per outing and has already hit seven this season. Ashli Hughes, Mariebeth Watanabe and Sarah Jackson have each hit a pair of triples.

WINTER STRIKES OUT GAMES

The Eastern Oregon University softball team's games in Great Falls were canceled due to winter conditions. The Mountaineers were scheduled to depart for Montana Monday morning. No make-up date has been scheduled for the non-conference games at this time.

WERE GOING STREAKING

Emily Anderson, Ashli Hughes and Jennifer McDonnell all ride seven game hit streaks into Friday's games. Mariebeth Watanabe had her nine game streak come to an end last weekend after recording no hits during the win over Northwest Christian. Anderson leads EOU with a .415 batting average after 22 hits this season.
