"I was encouraged by our determination after going up early, seeing them draw level and then going-up again at the break; then to see them pull ahead early in the second-half, but we need to learn to finish the job," EOU head coach Keith Scarlett said. "It's a great learning experience for us to have to play a team like that at this time. The were athletic, dynamic individualy and well-coached. Hopefully we can take this experience into next weekend's matches and apply it."
It took Northwest (5-2-2) (2-1) three minutes and 30 seconds of the second half to tie the game as Abby Brauer took Lizzie Perkins' cross and knocked one in from 12 yards out on the left side of the goal. Kelsey Frasier got the game winner four minutes later with her unassisted goal from the left side, 15 yards out.
Northwest held the edge in shots, 23-11 and corner kicks, 9-1. EOU goalkeeper
