LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University volleyball team picked up a Cascade Collegiate Conference win with a three set victory over Evergreen State Saturday.
The Mountaineers (12-9) (8-7) broke a two-match skid behind a balanced team attack.
Jessica Lea had team highs of 19 assists and eight kills.
Katie Showers also finished with eight kills, and
Emily Sampson had 15 assists.
Kaitlyn Duncan chipped in 10 digs for EOU.
Chantal Petkus finished with a match-high 13 digs to lead Evergreen (4-14) (3-11). Erin Mitchell had 12 assists and Caitlin Swift led the team with six assists.
The first set featured three ties and three lead changes in the Mountaineers' 25-17 Game 1 win. The second game had four tie scores and two lead changes until EOU pulled out the win, 25-19. Eastern controlled the third set before rolling to a 25-13 victory.
Eastern host The College of Idaho (18-4) (14-1) Friday on Senior Night in Quinn Coliseum at 7 p.m. The Yotes beat Northwest University in four sets in Caldwell, Idaho Saturday.
