CORVALLIS, Ore. – It was a standout week for Eastern Oregon University Athletics, as two Mountaineers delivered performances to earn this week's Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network. Elizabeth Grandle was named Field Athlete of the Week, while Lexi Grumbois earned Softball Player of the Week honors.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Senior Elizabeth Grandle put together a dominant showing at the CCC Multi-Event Championships, earning her second Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor this year.

The Molalla, Oregon native won the Heptathlon to secure the conference title, finishing 763 points ahead of her competition. Along the way, Grandle set both a meet record and a new program record, further cementing her place in the record books.

Grandle claimed first place in five of the seven events and hit an "A" standard in the javelin, where she now ranks seventh nationally. Even more impressive, her overall heptathlon score of 5,160 points currently leads the nation by a commanding 300-point margin.

Softball - Player
On the diamond, junior Lexi Grumbois powered the Mountaineers' offense and earned Softball Player of the Week recognition for the first time this season after a stellar series against Corban University. The Kelso, Washington native went 8-for-14 at the plate over the weekend, tallying two doubles and five RBIs while drawing a walk and swiping two bases, finishing with a .571 batting average, .600 on base percentage, and .714 slugging percentage. She was equally reliable in the field, recording two putouts and an assist without an error.

Her strong performance adds to an already impressive season. Grumbois currently ranks third in the CCC with a .427 batting average and sits second in the conference with 46 RBIs.
