NAMPA, Idaho – Eastern Oregon Track & Field continued its strong start to the outdoor season with an impressive showing at the Northwest Nazarene Open. The Mountaineers recorded two program records, 13 new top-25 marks, 11 event titles, 37 top-five finishes, and three NAIA "B" qualifying standards.
Men's Highlights
Eastern's men were led by a standout performance from
Mark Church, who won the hammer throw with a mark of 57.36 meters. His throw ranks fourth in program history and met the NAIA "B" standard. Church also added an 11th-place EOU all-time mark in the shot put at 14.76m.
In his collegiate debut,
Eamon Monahan made an immediate impact, winning the high jump with a clearance of 2.00 meters, good for 12th in EOU history.
Nick Robinson sprinted to a pair of victories, claiming the 100 meters in 10.69 seconds and the 200 meters in 22.49.
Hunter Marlatt took the title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:48.16, while
Stephen Pittman led a strong showing in the pole vault, winning with a mark of 4.40 meters. Teammate
Loren Wright followed with a runner-up finish at 4.25 meters.
Women's Highlights
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of
Melanie Boatman,
Taylor Joyce,
Nora Roscoe, and
Sara McKen delivered a top performance. Their time of 46.87 seconds broke the program record, met the NAIA "B" standard, and currently ranks No. 14 nationally.
Sara McKen continued her record-breaking form, improving her own school record in the 100 meters – set just last week – with a winning time of 12.03 seconds. She also captured the 200-meter title in 24.83, maintaining her position among the program's all-time top five.
Andrea Goulet posted a pair of strong finishes, placing second in the 100 meters in 12.62 to move into a tie for 21st EOU all-time, and taking third in the long jump with a mark of 5.37 meters, ranking 11th in program history.
Kaliyah Chronister added another top-10 mark in the long jump, tying for ninth all-time with a leap of 5.39 meters to finish second.
On the track,
Nora Roscoe clocked a 57.21 in the 400 meters, placing second and moving to seventh in program history.
Taylor Joyce followed with a win in the event at 57.10.
In the hurdles,
Sydney Peck led the way with a victory in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:02.16 to rank fourth EOU all-time and hit the NAIA "B" standard. Alivia Mode added an EOU top-25 mark in the 100-meter hurdles, placing third in 15.83 seconds.

Eastern Oregon Multi-athletes will compete next Thursday and Friday at the CCC Multi Events Championships in Ashland, while the remainder of the team will return to action Friday April 17 at the Larry Byerly Invite in Portland.
