LA GRANDE, Ore.— Eastern Oregon University Track and Field opened the 2026 outdoor season on its home turf, hosting the Gary Feasel Open at Banner Bank Track. The Mountaineers turned in a strong performance, capturing 11 event titles while recording 13 Eastern Oregon Top-25 marks and one national standard.
Men's Highlights
On the track,
Nick Robinson led the way in the sprints. Robinson clocked 10.77 in the 100 meters, moving to #5 all-time in program history. He followed that up with 22.08 in the 200 meters, placing him #11 all-time in the event.
Jayce Bartley also improved his standing in the 100 meters, with a time of 10.92, moving into a tie for #11 all-time.
In the hurdles,
Bryson Spears posted a solid 54.58 in the 400-meter hurdles, while
Jaeger Jacobson competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 10:25.91.
Field events also delivered several notable marks. freshman
Brandon Roberson opened his collegiate career with a 55.13m javelin throw, placing him #17 all-time in program history. Teammate Dillion Bus followed closely behind at 54.77mm, landing at #18 all-time.
In the high jump, Nate Wachs climbed into a tie for #17 all-time with a mark of 1.97m, adding another mark to the Mountaineer record book.
Stephen Pittman continued the momentum he built during the indoor season, clearing 4.80 meters in the pole vault, which matched his indoor personal best, moved him to #6 all-time in the event for EOU, and earned the first "B" Standard of the outdoor season.
Women's Highlights
The women's sprints featured standout performances from
Melanie Boatman, who impressed in her first-ever outdoor meet. Boatman ran 12.47 in the 100 meters, placing #14 all-time, and followed it with 25.54 in the 200 meters, good for #11 all-time.
Andrea Goulet also added her name to the record book in multiple events. She landed at #22 all-time in the long jump and later sprinted onto the 100-meter all-time list at #24.
In the hurdles, Lizzy Grandle ran 15.69 in the 100-meter hurdles and also competed in the javelin for the first time in nearly two years, marking 5.08m, narrowly missing the NAIA B standard by just four centimeters.
Middle-distance runner
Sydney Peck, fresh off an outstanding lead leg on the 4x800 relay at Indoor Nationals, delivered another strong showing with a 57.77 in the 400 meters, shaving nearly a full second off her personal best to move to #10 all-time in program history.
Closing out the women's running events,
Taylor Redick made a memorable 3000-meter steeplechase debut, winning the race in 12:00.92 and landing #15 all-time for the Mountaineers.
Eastern Oregon will continue their outdoor season on April 3rd at the Whitworth Peace Meet.
