Women’s Basketball CCC Tournament Preview

LA GRANDE, Ore. – For the first time, Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball will travel to Salem for the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Tournament, which will be hosted as a single-site event at Corban University.

The No. 2-seeded and No. 14-ranked Mountaineers will take on No. 7 seed Warner Pacific University on Friday, Feb. 27. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

Eastern Oregon (16-4 CCC, 24-4 overall) enters postseason play following another strong campaign, earning a share of the regular-season conference title alongside Corban. Although the teams split the crown, Corban secured hosting rights by virtue of its record against Lewis-Clark State College and College of Idaho.

The Mountaineers swept Warner Pacific during the regular season, claiming a 91-48 victory inside Quinn Coliseum before earning a 78-62 win on the road. Since 2008, Eastern Oregon holds a 31-3 record against the Knights in conference play.

In her 26th season at the helm, head coach Anji Weissenfluh has continued to position the Mountaineers among the nation's elite. Eastern Oregon has qualified for seven consecutive national tournaments (excluding the 2019-21 seasons impacted by COVID-19). This season, the Mountaineers ranked second in the CCC in fewest opponent offensive rebounds and assists allowed per game, while leading the conference in opponent blocks per game.

Individually, Kelsie Siegner ranks among the top of the CCC leader board, standing second in rebounds per game (8.7), third in blocks (48), and fifth in points per game (15.1).

The winner of Friday's quarterfinal will advance to the CCC Tournament semifinals to face the winner between No. 6 seed Southern Oregon University and No. 3 seed Lewis-Clark State.
