Siegner Named Academic All-American

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Eastern Oregon University's Kelsie Siegner has been selected to the 2025–26 Academic All-America NAIA Women's Basketball First Team, as announced Wednesday morning by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The prestigious honor highlights her outstanding achievements both academically and athletically over the past season.

Siegner stands out as one of just four student-athletes on the NAIA Women's Basketball Academic All-America Team to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career. While pursuing her Master of Education, completing student teaching responsibilities, and competing at a high level, she played a key role in the Mountaineers' success. The team finished with a 25–6 overall record, captured a regular-season conference co-championship, and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament First Round.

Chosen from a pool of more than 30,000 nominees nationwide, Siegner earned recognition for her excellence in both academics and athletics. After receiving All-District honors, she advanced to the national ballot, where CSC members selected the final Academic All-America teams from approximately 2,000 candidates.

With this achievement, Siegner joins an elite group of student-athletes celebrated for their commitment to success in both the classroom and competition. The Academic All-America distinction has long represented the highest standard of achievement, with past honorees going on to make significant contributions across fields such as medicine, business, science, and the arts.
