Eastern Oregon Draws College of the Ozarks in NAIA First Round

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2026 NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament field has been announced, with Eastern Oregon Mountaineers women's basketball earning an automatic berth after capturing the No. 2-seeded conference tournament championship. The Mountaineers will head to Mitchell, South Dakota, for First Round action beginning March 13.

Eastern Oregon will travel to Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, South Dakota, where they enter the Duer Quadrant bracket at the No.7 seed. The Mountaineers will take on No.10 seeded Bobcats of College of the Ozarks (Mo.), who received an at-large bid following a 16-6 record in the Sooner Athletic Conference and finishing 21-10 overall. Eastern last appeared in the NAIA First Round last season, while the Bobcats return for their 30th appearance in the championship field.

This year's First Round field includes 35 automatic qualifiers and 29 at-large selections. Automatic berths were awarded to teams that won their respective conference tournament title or regular-season championship, finished as conference tournament runner-up, or were otherwise selected by their conference. At-large bids were determined by the NAIA Women's Basketball National Selection Committee, which includes representatives from each geographic region along with six at-large members made up of coaches and administrators from across the country.

The winners advancing from the Second Round will meet at the championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa for the NAIA National Championship, presented by Bomgaars and Sterling. The 45th annual championship will be held March 19–24 at the Tyson Events Center.
