CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University track and field standout
Riley Morris has been named this week's Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Indoor Track McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network.
Morris, a senior from Burns, Oregon, delivered a record-breaking performance at the Husky Invite, competing against a field stacked with top NCAA Division I talent. In the mile, she clocked a 4:53.34 — shattering her previous personal best by 23.14 seconds. The mark breaks the EOU school record by 10.12 seconds and surpasses the NAIA "A" qualifying standard by 4.66 seconds. Her time now ranks No. 4 nationally in the NAIA.
The honor marks Morris' first Player of the Week award in track and field. She previously earned conference Player of the Week recognition earlier this year during the cross country season.
