KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon Men's Basketball returned to the national conversation this week, receiving three votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, released Wednesday morning.
The Mountaineers are currently tied for first place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings with Lewis-Clark State College, holding a 13-3 conference record. EOU has also clinched a berth in the CCC Tournament.
Since the previous poll, the Mountaineers posted a 3-0 record with wins over Warner Pacific, Evergreen State, and Northwest University.
As a team, Eastern Oregon ranks first in the CCC in three-point percentage (40.2%), free-throw percentage (79.3%), and points per game (85.5). The Mountaineers also rank second in field goal percentage (49.1%) and defensive rebounds per game (27.0).
Individually, several Mounties rank among the top five in the conference.
Eamon Monahan is fourth in scoring (17.6 points per game) and fifth in free-throw percentage (82.1%).
Trent Rogers and
James Bodily rank third (47.0%) and fourth (44.2%), respectively, in three-point percentage.
Logan Orchard sits third in total assists with 107.
The CCC is also represented in the poll by No. 22 Lewis-Clark State. Oregon Tech received 18 votes.
Eastern Oregon returns to action Friday, February 13, traveling to Eugene, Oregon to face Bushnell University at 7:30 PM.
