EOU Secures At-Large Bid, Travels to Langston for NAIA Tournament Opener

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2026 NAIA Men's Basketball National Tournament Field has been announced, with Eastern Oregon receiving an at-large bid to the First Round, beginning March 13th.

The Mountaineers will travel to Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma, where they enter the Liston Quadrant bracket as the No. 12 seed. Eastern Oregon will face No. 5 seed LSU–Alexandria Generals, who secured an automatic berth after finishing as the regular-season runner-up in the Red River Athletic Conference. Eastern Oregon enters the tournament with a 16–4 conference record and a 21–8 overall mark, having last appeared in the NAIA First Round in 2023. LSUA enters the tournament with an 18–4 conference record and a 23–8 overall mark after advancing to the NAIA Round of Eight last season.

The tournament field includes 35 automatic qualifiers determined by conference championships, while the remaining 29 at-large selections were chosen by the NAIA Men's Basketball National Selection Committee, which is made up of head coaches and administrators from across the country representing the West, Midwest, South, East, and North regions.

The 64-team tournament opens with First Round games on March 13. The 32 winners will advance to the Second Round on March 14, with teams competing for a spot at the final site at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri, where the Round of 16 begins March 19.

This year's field also features several historically successful programs, including Oklahoma City Stars men's basketball, which has captured six NAIA national championships in 26 appearances. An additional 16 teams in the bracket have won at least one national title in program history, including six programs with three championships and two with two titles.

Tip-off between the Mountaineers and the Generals is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
