KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Eastern Oregon University Volleyball team holds firm at No. 1 in the season's first
NAIA Women's Volleyball National Selection Committee (NSC) Poll.
The NSC evaluates teams using key metrics including RPI, Area Rating Committee (ARC) standings, overall record, strength of schedule, and conference play—the same criteria used in November to determine at-large bids and national championship seeding.
Off to the best start in program history, the Mountaineers remain a perfect 21-0 overall (5-0 home, 7-0 road, 9-0 neutral) and 10-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. EOU's dominant run features victories over multiple ranked opponents, including then-No. 1 Northwestern, No. 15 The Master's, No. 18 Southern Oregon, No. 6 Corban, No. 11 Lewis-Clark State, and most recently, No. 4 College of Idaho.
Midway through the conference slate, EOU has dropped just seven total sets while sweeping seven of its ten conference foes.
The Cascade Conference made a strong showing in the poll, placing Corban (No. 5), College of Idaho (No. 8), Lewis-Clark State (No. 20), and Southern Oregon (No. 22) alongside top-ranked EOU.
The Mountaineers look to keep their unblemished record intact this weekend when they host Northwest University on Friday and The Evergreen State College on Saturday.
