Women's Wrestling Begins New Year RV, With 4 Individually Ranked

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon Women's Wrestling remains in strong contention as they enter the 2026 calendar year, continuing to receive votes (23) in the NAIA Coaches Top 20 Poll, as announced Thursday by the NAIA national office. Additionally, four Mountaineers maintain their spots in the individual rankings, underscoring the program's ongoing excellence.

Although the individual wrestlers have not competed since the last rankings were released, their previous performances continue to resonate, keeping them among the top-ranked athletes in the nation.

In the 117-pound weight class, sophomore Gloria Diaz remains firmly planted at No. 19 with 10 points. Diaz holds a solid 11-6 record on the season, showcasing her competitive consistency.

At 131 pounds, junior Lexie Garza has moved up to No. 20 with 5 points. With a 5-4 record, Garza's strong early-season results have earned her a place in the national rankings.
Senior Sitlaly Macias moved to No. 17 in the 138-pound weight class with 15 points. Macias, who currently holds a 7-7 record, has been a key contributor to the team's performance thus far.

Freshman Veil Foreman remains the highest-ranked Mountaineer, sitting at No. 9 with 43 points. Foreman's impressive 17-7 record highlights her potential and solidifies her place as one of the top competitors in her weight class.

Eastern Oregon Women's Wrestling will return to action Sunday, January 4th, as they head to McMinnville for the Mat Cat Open, hosted by Linfield University.
Rankings are determined through a voting process conducted by a panel of head coaches from each conference, using a points-based system that evaluates both team and individual performances.
