PORTLAND, Ore. – Eastern Oregon women's soccer kicked off Cascade Collegiate Conference action with a 2-0 road win over Warner Pacific Friday afternoon. The Mountaineers (4-2-1, 1-0-0 CCC) controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting the Knights 15-4 and keeping a clean sheet behind a solid defensive performance.
Sophomore midfielder Macy Reed opened the scoring in the 37th minute, converting a corner from Peyton Jacaway to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Reed then returned the favor in the second half, assisting on Holly Dorhauer's goal in the 67th minute that sealed the win for the Mounties.
Eastern Oregon dominated statistically, finishing with 12 shots on goal and holding an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks. Reed and Dorhauer each finished with a goal and an assist, while Karina DeYoung and Gracie Rainsberry also generated multiple scoring chances.
In goal, Rylee Schei recorded another shutout, making three saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Warner Pacific (1-4-1, 0-1-0 CCC) managed just four total shots—three on goal—and struggled to build offensive momentum. Goalkeeper Kate Pomerinke kept the Knights in the match with nine saves.
Eastern Oregon returns Sunday to College Place, Wash., to face the Wolves of Walla Walla University at 10:30 a.m.
