Kate Stidham was named CCC Volleyball Setter of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.
The Mountaineers, who were ranked fifth in the NAIA Preseason Coaches Poll, are starting the season at 8-0 after a perfect weekend at the College of Saint Mary Labor Day Classic, featuring a win over No. 7 Northwestern (Iowa) and an upset of No. 4 Concordia (Neb.).
Stidham produced a solid weekend to jump-start her EOU career, collecting 104 assists for an average of 8.67 per set. She also added a kill, three service aces, and 31 digs to her stat line.
The highlight of Stidham's weekend came in the Mounties' win over RV Benedictine (Kan.), when she posted a 26-assist, 11-dig double-double. She also set herself a new season-high of 30 assists in the match against Northwestern.
Eastern returns home this weekend to open up its conference slate against The Evergreen State College on Friday and Northwest University on Saturday. The Mounties currently hold the best overall record of all CCC teams, followed by the Northwest Eagles who are 4-0.
