Eastern Oregon Track and Field Rises in National Rankings

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University men's and women's track and field programs continued their climb in the national spotlight, surging in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NAIA National Rankings released Wednesday.

The Mountaineer men jumped three spots to No. 7 in the country, while the women soared eight places to No. 17—marking one of the largest week-to-week improvements in the national poll.

Eastern Oregon's rise comes on the heels of a series of nationally ranked event performances, highlighted by 10 top-10 marks across both programs. The men are currently ranked No. 1 in the steeplechase and No. 2 in the decathlon, while also boasting top-10 national marks in the 10,000 meters, high jump, and pole vault. On the women's side, EOU is ranked as high as No. 3 in the 400-meter hurdles, along with top-five positions in the javelin and 100-meter hurdles.

The Mountaineers now turn their attention to the OSU High Performance Meet and Lindfield Open this weekend, where they look to build on their momentum and add to a strong national resume.
