Krabbenhoft Claims Conference Decathlon Title, Mounties Compete at Oregon Open

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University's Justin Krabbenhoft captured the decathlon title at the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Multi-Event Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, on Friday afternoon at Oregon Tech, leading a string of standout performances for the Mountaineers across three different meets.

Krabbenhoft, a senior, scored 6,623 points to win the CCC decathlon title by a margin of 480 points, improving on his previous mark by six points. He led the field across both days of competition, capping day two with first-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (15.60), pole vault (4.30m), and javelin (45.12m). He added a fifth-place effort in the discus (29.89m) and placed eighth in the 1500 meters (5:20.08).

Teammate Tyler Jones earned runner-up honors with 6,143 points. The senior took second in the discus (34.54m), finished third in the 110-meter hurdles (16.70), and placed sixth in both the pole vault (3.50m) and javelin (36.01m). He closed out the competition with a seventh-place finish in the 1500 meters (5:19.67).

In the women's heptathlon, junior Adrienne Washington secured second place with 4,771 points. Washington won the javelin with a throw of 36.85 meters, took second in the long jump (5.39m), and placed third in the 800 meters (2:29.56).

Elsewhere on Friday, EOU athletes competed at the Oregon Open hosted by the University of Oregon, where more national qualifying marks were achieved. Skotlyn Hill earned an NAIA "A" Standard in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a ninth-place time of 1:01.84. On the men's side, George Showers clocked 9:19.77 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to hit the "B" Standard. In the field events, Tanner Nett claimed victory in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.39 meters, also surpassing the "B" Standard.

The Mountaineers will continue their weekend competing at the Larry Byerly Inviational on Saturday and Sunday in Portland.
