PARK CITY, Kan. – Eastern Oregon University men's wrestling wrapped up Day Two of the 2025 NAIA National Championships in 21st place, compiling 19.5 points in the tournament.
Fourth-seeded Nico Rodriguez led the Mountaineers' efforts, advancing to the semifinals with a dominant performance. In the quarterfinals, he secured a 10-1 major decision victory over No. 5 Kenneth Copley of Embry-Riddle. Rodriguez then faced top-seeded Gage Braun of Southeastern in the semifinals, where he fell by 8-0 major decision, coming up short in his bid for the finals.
In the consolation bracket, three EOU wrestlers battled but were eliminated. Jaxon Morlan fell in a 4-1 decision to Louden Stradling (Cleary) in the third consolation round, while Jack Eylar suffered a 17-5 major decision loss to Jamarcus Smith (Cleary). Kyle Knudtson came up just short in a tightly contested match, dropping an 11-10 decision to Rylin Burns (Montana State-Northern).
Rodriguez remains in contention and will take the mat again tomorrow, facing No. 7 Braden Morgan (Friends University) for a chance to compete in the third-place match.
