Eastern Oregon Women's Basketball Set to Face Cumberlands in First Round of NAIA Tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –  The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team is headed to Williamsburg, Kentucky, to take on the University of the Cumberlands in the first round of the 2025 NAIA Women's Basketball Championship. The Mountaineers will face off against Cumberlands on Friday, March 14, at 6:00 p.m. ET at the first round tournament site.

The 2025 NAIA Women's Basketball Championship will feature 64 teams, with the First and Second Rounds taking place at host sites across the nation. The winners of the Second Round games will advance to the national championship in Sioux City, Iowa, at the Tyson Events Center from March 20-25.

Eastern Oregon (19-9) earned an at-large bid to the tournament and will make its 16th NAIA Tournament appearance. The Mountaineers are seeking their first NAIA championship, with an all-time tournament record of 10-15. Eastern Oregon last qualified for the tournament in 2024, and will look to build on its strong season as it enters the highly competitive field.

Cumberlands, the opponent in the first round, is one of the 35 automatic qualifiers for the 2025 championship. The teams will battle for a spot in the Second Round, which will take place on March 15. All First and Second Round games will be streamed by the host institution and available across multiple platforms for fans to follow the action.
