Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Eastern Oregon University women's lacrosse team struggled to keep pace with the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis on Wednesday, falling 13-3 in a non-conference matchup.
Sophomore Jade McCoy led the Mountaineers (0-8) with two goals, while senior Sophia Martinez added one. Goalkeeper Red Pratt recorded eight saves in the loss.
UHSP (3-6) controlled possession throughout the game, outshooting EOU 30-9. Ella Penke paced the Eutectics with a game-high three goals and two assists, while Michelle Le and Haley Smith each contributed two goals.
Eastern Oregon found itself trailing early, as UHSP built a 6-1 lead by halftime. The Mountaineers attempted to rally in the second half, with Martinez and McCoy each finding the back of the net, but UHSP's offense proved too strong, scoring five fourth-quarter goals to seal the win.
The Mountaineers will look to regroup as they face Missouri Valley College tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. PT.
