GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eastern Oregon University track and field continued its strong showing at the NAIA Indoor National Championships, with two more athletes earning All-American honors and two school records falling on day two of competition.
The Mountaineer men's team climbed to sixth place in the overall team standings with 13 total points, while the women's team sits in 26th place with three points.
Mark Church secured his second consecutive All-American honor in the men's weight throw, placing third with a mark of 18.92 meters. In addition to earning national recognition, Church set a new Eastern Oregon indoor school record, surpassing the previous mark of 18.91 meters set by Chris Dilley in 2009.
Justin Krabbenhoft joined the All-American ranks with a third-place finish in the men's heptathlon, amassing 5,225 points. His day was highlighted by a strong third-place finish in the 1,000-meter run, crossing the line in 2:43.44. Tyler Jones also delivered a solid performance, finishing 11th in the heptathlon with 4,847 points.
On the women's side, Riley Morris made history in the 1,000-meter run prelims, setting a new school record with a time of 2:55.19. Her performance broke the previous mark of 2:56.15 set by Faith Homer in 2018 and secured her a spot in Saturday's final.
In distance events, Jonathan Wind and Justin Ash both qualified for the men's 3,000-meter final, finishing seventh and eighth in their prelim heats with times of 8:22.16 and 8:23.46, respectively.
