Mountaineers Complete Comeback Over Geoducks on Senior Night

LA GRANDE, Ore. — Eastern Oregon women's basketball took care of business on Senior Night, handing Evergreen State a 64-55 loss to close out regular season play. The Mounties honored their two seniors Delaney Pink and Brie Holecek for their contributions over the past couple of seasons, celebrating the impact they have made on the program both on and off the court.

The Mountaineers were led by Kelsie Siegner, who finished the game with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Siegner played a crucial role in Eastern Oregon's second-half surge, scoring several key baskets, including a critical 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to help push the Mountaineers ahead. Maggie Smith also had a solid performance, contributing 12 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, while Brie Holecek added 19 points and 9 rebounds.

The Geoducks were led by Jalyn Sackrider, who posted a game-high 22 points, including 2 three-pointers, and grabbed 6 rebounds. Mikail Montez contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Evergreen jumped out to an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 21-10. However, Eastern Oregon started to chip away at the lead in the second quarter, limiting the Geoducks to just 8 points in the period. At the half, Evergreen still held a slight advantage, 29-19.

The Mountaineers came alive in the second half, outscoring the Geoducks 45-26 over the final two quarters. Eastern Oregon shot 56.3% in the fourth quarter, led by Siegner's clutch shooting and Holecek's perimeter shooting, which helped them seize control of the game in the final moments.

Moving into post season, Eastern Oregon will host College of Idaho on February 26th in Quinn Coliseum for their first round of the CCC Championships at 7 p.m.
