Four Mountaineers Earn CCC Player of the Week Honors

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon had four student-athletes recognized for their outstanding performances this past week, as Tyler Jones, Adrienne Washington, Maxximus Richmond, and Brie Holecek each earned Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors in their respective sports.

Men's Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Week

Tyler Jones, a senior from Richland, Wash., was named the CCC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after an impressive showing at the EOU Last Chance Invite. Jones secured the top mark in the heptathlon with a score of 4,929, hitting an NAIA "A" Standard that ranks No. 8 in the nation this season. He also claimed first place in the high jump with a mark of 2.04m, achieving a "B" Standard.

Women's Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete of the Week

Adrienne Washington, a senior jumper from Lewiston, Idaho, was recognized as the CCC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Washington dominated the high jump event at the EOU Last Chance Invite, posting a top mark of 1.74m to achieve an "A" Standard, which currently ranks No. 5 in the NAIA. She also placed second in the long jump with a mark of 5.65m, reaching a "B" Standard.

Men's Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete of the Week

Maxximus Richmond, a junior from Spokane, Wash., earned CCC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors following a standout weekend at the EOU Last Chance Invite. Richmond won the 600m event with a time of 1:21.31, setting a personal record and achieving an "A" Standard that ranks No. 8 in the NAIA this season. Additionally, he contributed to the 4x800m relay team, which secured an "A" Standard and a first-place finish with a time of 7:52.94.

Women's Basketball – Offensive Player of the Week

Brie Holecek, a senior forward from Spokane, Wash., was named the CCC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Mountaineers to dominant victories over Multnomah (81-54) and Warner Pacific (89-54). Holecek delivered an outstanding performance, shooting 68% from the field and totaling 44 points over the two-game stretch. She also added 13 rebounds, four steals, and three assists while playing 66 minutes.
