PORTLAND, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University women's basketball delivered solid performance Friday evening, defeating the Multnomah Lions 81-54 in Cascade Collegiate Conference.
The Mountaineers utilized an explosive fourth quarter to secure their win over the Lions. The Mounties shot an efficient 100% from the free throw line in the fourth and 84.6% overall to help extend their lead.
Brie Holecek delivered 18 points, five rebounds, and an assist. Kelsie Siegner contributed 18 points and six rebounds, Kaiea Waiwaiole also chipped in 9 points, five assists, and two rebounds.
EOU's success stemmed from their bench out scoring the Lions bench 21-0, and a big first half to put them up 42-25. The Mountaineers' defense also forced 15 turnovers and 25 defensive rebounds.
The Mountaineers look to tomorrow as they face the Knights of Warner Pacific at 3 p.m. in Portland.
