Siegner Lifts Mounties Over Beacons With Double-Double

EUGENE, Ore. — Eastern Oregon women's basketball powered past Bushnell on Saturday afternoon, securing an 82-63 victory at the Morse Center. The Mountaineers used a balanced offensive attack and dominant rebounding effort to pull away from the Beacons.

EOU set the tone early, jumping out to a 24-14 lead in the first quarter. The Mounties continued to extend their advantage, leading 45-31 at halftime behind strong outside shooting and efficient ball movement. A 21-10 third quarter put the game firmly in control for Eastern Oregon, which never trailed after the opening minutes.

Junior forward Kelsie Siegner led the way for the Mounties with a standout performance, scoring a game-high 27 points while adding 11 rebounds, four steals, and three assists. She shot 9-of-13 from the field, including a 6-of-9 mark from three-point range. Brie Holecek contributed 11 points and three rebounds, while Mya Alvarado added 10 points off the bench.

Eastern Oregon shot 46.8% from the floor, including 42.3% from beyond the arc. The Mountaineers controlled the boards with a 38-29 rebounding advantage and capitalized on second-chance opportunities.

Bushnell was led by Libby Mathis, who tallied 15 points and eight rebounds. Ellis Mastel chipped in 13 points, while Ayden Krupke recorded eight points and five rebounds. The Beacons struggled from long range, making just 2-of-11 attempts from three-point territory (18.2%).

The Mounties will return home next weekend to face Walla Walla University at 11 a.m in Quinn Coliseum Friday February 7th.
