CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University's
Keilan Torkornoo and
Kelsie Siegner have been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their performances across the court last week.
Men's Basketball - Defensive
Torkornoo, a junior forward from Saratoga Springs, Utah, anchored EOU's defensive effort during last week's trip to Arizona. He pulled down 21 rebounds across three games—six of them on the offensive glass—while adding three blocks and a steal and consistently disrupting opponents with his interior presence.
The Multnomah transfer has already made a significant impact for the Mountaineers this season, leading the team in both total rebounds and blocks. His week was highlighted by an eight-point, nine-rebound outing against undefeated Benedictine Mesa on Saturday, as well as a 15-point performance at No. 2 Arizona Christian on Tuesday.
While maintaining his strong defense, Torkornoo also contributed on the offensive end, finishing the week with 28 total points.
Women's Basketball - Offensive
Siegner, a senior guard from Crane, Oregon, delivered two standout offensive performances while at the Caldwell Classic. Against Arizona Christian, she posted 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and recorded 4 blocks – collecting her third double-double of the year. The very next game, she registered a game-high 22 points along with 8 rebounds and 2 steals against Embry-Riddle. Across the two matchups, Siegner shot an impressive 53.3% from the field, 41.2% from three-point range, and 50% from the free throw line, averaging 20 points per game.
Seigner has been a constant force for the Eastern Oregon offense, currently averaging 13.1 points per game – collecting double digit figures in nearly every contest this season and helping the Mounties to an 8-0 start.
This marks Siegner's fourth career weekly conference recognition.
