KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University has officially punched its ticket to the NAIA's 46th Annual Volleyball National Championship, presented by Marriott South Sioux City Riverfront and Explore Siouxland. EOU will host Simpson University (Calif.) this Saturday, as announced during Monday afternoon's selection show.
The Mountaineers (28-2) enter the postseason riding major momentum after securing both the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season title and the CCC Championship Tournament crown, each on their home court. Eastern looks to carry that energy into its November 22 matchup against the Red Hawks (17-16) inside Quinn Coliseum. Match time is still to be determined.
This year's National Championship features a 48-team field competing in 24 Opening Round matches held at campus sites across the country. Winners will advance to the final site, the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa, for 24-team pool play. The top team from each pool will then move on to single-elimination championship action.
All Opening Round matches will be streamed by their respective hosts and available free of charge on the NAIA Channel of the
Urban Edge Network. Live statistics, programs, and tickets will be provided by Eastern Oregon University Athletics, and official Opening Round and Final Site merchandise can be purchased through
Fine Designs.
The Cascade Conference will be well-represented, with six additional programs competing in Opening Round play. Corban, the CCC Tournament runner-up, will host Fisk (Tenn.), while Northwest heads to Great Falls, Montana, to face Providence. Bushnell will host its first-ever Opening Round contest, welcoming MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) to the Morse Center. College of Idaho will host Bethel (Kan.), and Walla Walla, making its first national appearance in program history, will travel to take on Cornerstone in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Final site pool assignments will be announced on Sunday, November 23, at 11 a.m. PT.
