EOU Volleyball Holds No. 2 in Final Regular-Season Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon Volleyball held steady at No. 2 in the final regular-season NAIA National Statistical Committee (NSC) Top 25 Poll, announced Wednesday morning.

The Mountaineers were one of eight teams to maintain their position from the previous poll, securing their place among the top two teams in the nation heading into postseason play. EOU trails only Northwestern (Iowa), whose only loss this season came against the Mountaineers during preseason competition.

Eastern Oregon enters the final weekend of regular-season play still in contention for the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season title. The Mountaineers are tied atop the conference standings with No. 5 College of Idaho, with both teams set to face Walla Walla University and Lewis-Clark State this weekend.

EOU has posted an 8-2 record over its last 10 matches, most recently splitting last weekend's matchups with a loss to the Yotes before bouncing back with a victory over the Knights. Overall, the Mountaineers hold a 27-2 record and a 16-2 mark in conference play. EOU has played just one five-set match this season while recording 21 straight-set sweeps.

The CCC remains well represented in the national rankings, with College of Idaho holding at No. 5 and Corban maintaining its No. 6 position. Southern Oregon climbed three spots to No. 21, while Bushnell entered the Top 25 at No. 25.

Having already clinched their spot in the CCC Tournament, the Mountaineers will look to finish the regular season strong this weekend before turning their attention to postseason conference tournament play next week.
