Kiauna Mack Named CCC Defender of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon volleyball's Kiauna Mack has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Defender of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, announced by the CCC on Monday afternoon.

This marks the fourth time this season that the senior middle hitter has been recognized by the conference for her efforts, with her most recent honor being just two weeks ago.

The No. 1 Mountaineers are off to their best start in program history, as Mack helped lead the team to its 12th and 13th sweeps of the year last week. EOU is now 18-0 overall and 10-0 in CCC play.

Although she earned Defender of the Week, Mack was a dominant force on both sides of the ball, racking up 12 total blocks (2.00 per set) to shut down the attacks of No. 15 College of Idaho and Warner Pacific while also powering 18 kills on a .517 hitting percentage.

Her offensive highlight of the week came against WPU, where she was the only Mountie to record double-digit kills and she matched her season-best attack percentage of .667.

Mack and Eastern Oregon are now set to enter the second half of conference action, beginning with a trip to Washington to face No. 23 Northwest University and The Evergreen State College.
