KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon University volleyball remains among the nation's best, coming in at No. 2 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, released Wednesday morning.

The Mountaineers (22-2, 14-2 CCC) continue to hold strong near the top of the national rankings after a competitive two-week stretch that included matchups against three Cascade Collegiate Conference opponents either ranked or receiving votes in the previous poll.

After earning its fourth straight No. 1 ranking, EOU hit the road to face then-No. 8 Corban University in Salem, where the Warriors handed the Mounties their first loss of the season, 3-1. Eastern responded with back-to-back sweeps over No. 23 Bushnell University and Oregon Tech before falling in four sets to (RV) Southern Oregon at home, marking its first home loss in nearly a year.

Despite the setbacks, the Mountaineers remain firmly in contention for the nation's top spot as the postseason approaches.

Offensively led by Keira Vaughn (3.38 kills/set) and Kiauna Mack (3.04 kills/set), EOU continues to showcase one of the most balanced and dynamic lineups in the NAIA. Mack also anchors the defense at the net (1.69 blocks/set), while Jaycee Villastrigo provides steady leadership in the back row (3.50 digs/set).

With four conference matches remaining before the CCC Tournament, the Mounties look to finish strong and regain their early-season momentum for another deep postseason run.

They host I-84 rival No. 18 College of Idaho tonight at 7 p.m. before traveling to face Warner Pacific tomorrow evening. Eastern then closes out the regular season at home against No. 12 Lewis-Clark State and (RV) Walla Walla.
