LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University women's basketball players Kelsie Siegner and Brie Holecek have been recognized by the Cascade Collegiate Conference for their outstanding performances, earning Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Siegner, a junior guard from Crane, Ore., claimed her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Week award. Over the weekend, she played a pivotal role in the Mountaineers' victories against Bushnell University (71-61) and Corban University (64-48). Siegner tallied 19 rebounds, five steals, five blocks, and two assists, while also contributing 41 points in 66 minutes of play.
Holecek, a senior forward from Spokane, Wash., was named the Offensive Player of the Week after her dominant scoring performances. She averaged 22 points across the two games, shooting 50.0% from the field. Holecek added 13 rebounds and four assists in 69 minutes.
Eastern Oregon's back-to-back wins extend their Cascade Collegiate Conference record to 4-3 overall. The Mounties will next return to action against The Evergreen State College on January 10th in Olympia, Wash.
