LA GRANDE, Ore. — Behind stellar performances from
Kelsie Siegner and
Brie Holecek, Eastern Oregon secured a 64-48 victory over the Corban Warriors in Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
The Mountaineers used a dominant fourth quarter, outscoring Corban 21-13, to seal the win. EOU's defense held the Warriors to just 6 points in the third quarter and forced 15 turnovers throughout the contest.
Siegner led the charge for the Mountaineers with a double-double, tallying 28 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 blocks while shooting 12-23 from the field. Holecek complemented Siegner's effort with 20 points, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds. Kaiea Waiwaiole played a crucial facilitating role, dishing out 5 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds, while Maggie Smith contributed defensively with 4 assists and a steal.
Eastern Oregon controlled the boards with a 45-38 rebounding advantage and turned their 12 offensive rebounds into 12 second-chance points. Their fast-break offense was also a factor, generating 12 points in transition.
