Wieber Claims Second at Warrior Open

Fort Wayne, Ind. - Eastern Oregon Women's Wrestling navigated a challenging field at the Warrior Open Saturday morning. The Mounties fought through tough competition during their matches, with one Mountie, Liv Wieber, earning a second-place finish.

Warrior Open Results:
  • 103 lbs. - Nayeli Flores Roque lost to A. Quezaire (Fall); defeated B. Funakoshi (Dec. 5-2); lost to #7 M. Young (Fall).
  • 110 lbs. - #16 Nia Avelino received a bye; defeated #15 K. Shota (Fall); lost to #3 P. Morales (TF 10-0); lost to #10 R. Thomas (TF 13-2); defeated K. Bice (Inj.).
  • 110 lbs. - Telsarina Walter received a bye; lost to T. Soares (TF 10-0).
  • 117 lbs. - #13 Irma Retano received a bye; defeated #14 J. Robinson (Dec. 6-0); lost to K. Shufeldt (Fall); lost to #9 S. Miranda (Fall); lost to #12 C. Payton (Dec. 12-11).
  • 117 lbs. - #18 Gloria Diaz lost to N. Thomas (Fall).
  • 124 lbs. - Brooklyn Jones lost to T. Howard (TF 10-0).
